Since 2014 ,I Jemima, one of Dinah and Davids four daughter's. I took on the sole responsibility of honouring, exhibiting, storage, archiving and working Prentice Art Works that my parents set up together to protect their lives works.

18Aug

I Jemima, have been solely running my parents ltd company for some 10 years since my Father died in 2014. I have had to navigate his work and the process he worked in.

As some of you will acknowledge loosing a parent or loved one we also loose the back up memory that you could always rely on. Let alone the day to day things he taught me that you take for granted..

I was a crafts woman not an artist so the learning curve has been an immersive and  immense process for me with the added emotional day to day absorption of my love and loss.

I have run my father's company honouring exhibiting with his art dealer and accountant. Both have been immensely kind and extremely supportive of me while I relocated both my parents life's work, plus task of archiving all their work.

I am in the process of working with The University of Birmingham for all of my mothers work 'Dinah Prentice' to be gifted in full to the Research and Cultural centre( RCC) where some of my fathers items have already been gifted over the years. my mother's work will be open to research. Dinah Prentice does not want her work to be sold and wishes her works to be less commercial than my father's.

Up until the pandemic I was negotiating, honouring and working with David's traditional way of exhibiting. John Davies gallery in the Cotswolds is still a part of such exhibiting of my father's original art work.

Since 2020 I have been photographing and archiving almost every inch/stitch of art my parents have produced. At each stage I felt I had worked enough to build a website and produce Giclee images my father had started to sell. At each completion of work I found more questions I needed to understand. With the added work of learning the boundaries of a computer. Working with IT consultants , I have been able to incorporate my ideas into this website.

Now in 2024 I feel that I need to bring my fathers David Prentice work to be accessed on a more affordable smaller scale than the original paintings and enjoyed by all.

I have been approached numerous times from friends, people and business's to produce prints. With this idea I feel I am now able to proceed. I have the knowledge to be able to produce these beautifully and professionally. I will be working with a very clever man with years of experience (even my father would have loved to have met and had the help from for producing his Giclee's)

This is the start of my journey sharing my father's beautiful even breathtaking small Giclees.

All images on this website have been reduced in quality for reference only purposes and copyright control.

All Giclee's produced by Prentice Art Works are of exceptional quality in 2024 these will be signed and dated by myself on behalf of my father.
